She's Back in the Kitchen

So it was a busy week last week with Thanksgiving and everything. But I just had a delicious time in Louisiana. And in saying delicious, I mean that I did lots of cooking this weekend, which was great because I haven't done a whole lot of that lately. I learned to make a few new things: turkey gumbo, crab bisque soup, and lobster tacos. And, I also did some snacking on my bruschetta recipe and on this cheese called robusto cheese. It was a really dry Italian cheese, very nutty and wonderful. Thank you Whole Foods.

I also got the chance to finish the book Freakonomics, which I highly recommend to anyone interested in some new perspectives on education, crime, abortion, and parenting. I found it distinctly refreshing and I couldn't put it down. I read the book in about two afternoons.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. Strangely, I still am not feeling very ready for Christmas. I suppose I'll tune into 100.3 FM and hope to have a change of heart.

I thought you might enjoy this article from the Metro TImes about WNIC and their Christmas music craziness! : ) http://www.metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=8521

You should read Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat" next. I associate it with "Freakonomics" because I read one before the other, though there only real similarity is that they both offer interesting perspectives. Here is an NPR interview with Friedman in which the book is discussed: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4600258. I think I sent it to you when it first came out.
