Smart Women Make Changes

I bought these erasers at a little shop in Grand Rapids this past weekend. I thought they were really great. There were also pencils that said "Smart Women Get to the Point", drinking glasses that said "Smart Women Thirst for Knowledge", and chip clip bags that said "Smart Women Seal the Deal."

This weekend I also went to a dinner gala for the local symphony. The party was a pretty big snoozer. I think the average age of the guests was 67 and that's only because I attended the party and brought down the average. I went with my mom as her date as a favor. I thought I'd get a decent meal out of it. Though it wasn't the standard plated rubber chicken at most receptions, my salmon with lobster sauce left much to be desired. It was accompanied with rubber chicken's close companions: dry flavorless overcooked cubed red potatoes and saltless green and yellow string beans. There were however, chocolate covered strawberries and a decent dessert table...so I'll try to forgive the boring reception food. I sound pretty snotty, I realize, but I'm anticipating the day when I attend a banquet dinner party the food is actually creative and the wine selection at the bar is more than chardonnay, merlot, and white zinfandel (not a wine at all in my opinion). When the bartender said he had zinfandel, I was like..."ooooh, red zinfandel?" And then he said...."no, white." I'm pretty sure I made a scrunchy eeewww face.

Bowling is tonight. It's been two weeks as I was out of town last Monday. We'll see how she rolls.................

They're from a store called Catching Fireflies on 28th Street down towards Cascade. You better act quick, though, I think they're going to close the store early next year. But, I think there is a sister store in Rochester, MI, which is definitely closer to you here in SE MI.
